GDPR Academy
The Academy is organised by the Confederation of CZ Industry, together with the Data Protection Office and partners (IBM, KPMG, and PRK). The Academy will help companies and other entities to prepare for the implementation of the new EU General Data Protection Regulation. The Regulation enters into force on May 25 2018 and will apply to all businesses, whether operating on or off EU territory, if they process personal data of EU citizens or monitoring their behaviour.
The regulation is very complex, it is one of the most stringent data protection regimes and the non-compliance is punished by fines up to 4% of the company's global turnover or EUR 20 million, whichever is the higher. Lecturers of the GDPR Academy will provide participants with a structured overview of obligations in individual segments of business operations and activities, as well as the individual changes the Regulation will bring for them. The three seminars will also focus on selected business sectors. The first seminar is aimed for managers of companies and will be held on June June 16 2017 at the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
