Czech Airlines has launched a new generation of native mobile applications for iOS and Android operating systems. Unlike the previous version, the new applications are technologically on par with the most modern trends, contain a number of new services and improvements.
Czech Airlines’ new applications will allow clients, alongside making reservations and purchasing tickets and checking-in online via mobile phones, also purchasing selected additional services, such as priority seating, overweight and extra pieces of luggage, travel insurance and airport lounge entry. The system of purchases made by clients is also new, in the form of a shopping cart. Additionally, this allows the carrier to add new services to its mobile applications, without any limitations. A so called flexi buffer has also been added, showing available flights three days post and prior the selected date. The users can also choose from a number of special-deal tickets in a new Special Offers section.
With implementation of the new applications, Czech Airlines has significantly expanded the number of ways of payment available upon smartphone purchases. From three options supported by the old version, there are now twelve ways of payment available on the most of markets. Alongside the option of using standard Visa, MasterCard and American Express debit and credit cards, offline and online bank transfers (e.g. Sofort), cash payments, PaySec and MasterCard Mobile service are now available. The last two are available on Czech market only.
Czech Airlines’ mobile application are available for download in the App Store and Android Market in five language versions: Czech, English, Russian, German and French. The new applications will be automatically downloaded and installed on smartphones of users of the old version, provided they have this service activated in their telephone settings. The carrier is currently working on a native mobile application for users of mobile phones with Windows operating systems, which the airline plans to launch before the start of the 2015 summer season.
