Czech Airlines Handling Acknowledged for its Handling Services

Czech Airlines Handling (CSAH), Czech Aeroholding’s daughter company, has been voted the best provider of handling services in 2014 by Lufthansa and Swiss airlines. CSAH was ranked 1st out of 60 evaluated destinations.

Lufthansa voted CSAH No. 1 out of 19 “larger” European destinations evaluated including, for example, Warsaw, Budapest, Vienna and others, while Swiss International Air Lines evaluated a total of 41 European destinations in the same category as the winner, CSAH. The evaluation criteria consist of pre-set qualitative parameters, adherence to which is monitored throughout the handling process.

Lufthansa and the Swiss carriers performed a total of 5,265 departures from Prague last year. “Some of the parameters evaluated are, for example, check-in desk wait time, passenger treatment during the handling process, including boarding at the gate, ways of handling irregularities, operational regularity and the number of pieces of luggage left behind,” Václav Řehoř, Czech Aeroholding Chairman of the Board of Directors explained, adding: “We greatly appreciate this award confirming the high standard of our services. I wish to thank all colleagues who provide the handling services of the required quality every day.”

In 2014, CSAH handled more than 58,000 arrivals and departures at Václav Havel Airport Prague, assuming the role of the largest handling services provider at the airport. “The recognition of Czech Airlines Handling, our daughter company, by world-renowned airlines confirms the high standard of the services we provide - the key point of the entire group’s business strategy,” Václav Řehoř concludes.

CSAH provides comprehensive passenger, aircraft, cargo and mail handling for more than 25 air carriers at Václav Havel Airport Prague, including Sky Team Alliance and Star Alliance members and other carriers operating scheduled and charter passenger services and cargo transport. Ticket sales and ticketing at Václav Havel Airport Prague and Karlovy Vary airport are closely linked to the company’s primary services.

The company also cleans aircraft interiors and buildings and operates passenger and freight transport. Effective 1 January 2014, the company has expanded the portfolio of its business activities to include aircraft refuelling. Effective 1 July 2014, it also operates a Contact Centre.
