New, Better Arranged Arrival to Václav Havel Airport Prague to Be Launched

Effective 1st September 2015, a new exit from the R7 motorway to Václav Havel Airport Prague will be opened in the direction from Prague to Slaný. Cars headed to the airport will leave the motorway after passing under a bridge over the R7 motorway connecting the Tuchoměřice and Ruzyně areas. The reason for the new motorway construction is to make the airport arrival more straightforward and to provide sufficient capacity for future increases in passenger volumes. The change will be clearly communicated by new traffic signs.
The exit change will be the first in Václav Havel Airport Prague’s modern history. Thanks to the change, the airport will enjoy a clear and safe connection with a busy motorway. Drivers headed to the airport will benefit from a more comfortable traffic solution, without crossing routes headed in different directions.
The traffic serviceability of nearby Tuchoměřice will also be significantly enhanced. Moreover, in the direction of Slaný, a modern solution featuring a motorway connecting lane has been designed.
The new motorway construction will be opened in stages. Therefore, for a limited amount of time - from 1st September to 6thOctober, two exits will be operational on the way to the airport. The current exit to the airport will head to Tuchoměřice, while the next exist (past the bridge crossing the R7 motorway) will head to the airport.
The entire construction will be finished by the end of this year. Until then, it will be necessary to pay special attention to the new traffic signs. We recommend that passengers allow enough time for their journey to the airport.
