The international recruitment company Hays will be launching the new Hays Response brand from September in the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary. This brand will focus on seeking out temporary “white collar” staff.
Recruitment and assignment of temporary employees - temporary staffing, is the current trend throughout Europe, where there is demand for greater flexibility and support of short-term jobs. Agency employment is most frequently used in relation to “white collar” workers in administrative roles with major global corporations (e.g. Siemens, HP) and also frequently at shared services centres (for example CSC, IBM GSDC) and in pharmaceutical companies. The main sectors in Europe, which utilise temporary staffing, are services (37%) and manufacturing (32%). Construction (9%), public administration (7%) and agriculture (4%) use these services the least.
Within Europe, we see high number of white-collar temporary staff mainly in the UK, France, The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. The Czech Republic, which continues to lag behind the European average of 1.7% with 0.7% agency employees, is increasingly beginning to apply temporary employment across all sectors, from administration and finance, through sales and marketing, to information technologies and engineering.
“Companies mainly use this service for swiftly dealing with a lack of employees. Also, during the headcount freeze they are not forced to increase the number of own permanent staff. We can also recommend this service to deal with seasonal increased demand for staff or for limited projects. It is no exception for temporary employees to become permanent staff,“ Lenka Pešková, Business Unit Manager from Hays Czech Republic adds.
