Opel has registered substantial growth in the German market in October and posted its biggest October market share since 2011 with 7.04 percent. The carmaker recorded 19,607 new passenger car registrations and achieved a significant increase of 1,163 units or 6.3 percent compared to the same month in 2014.
The increase in sales is mainly a result of high demand for Opel’s new models. Opel sold 2,712 Mokka SUVs in the past month – an increase of 21 percent year-on-year. The Mokka was the bestselling SUV on the market according to the Federal Motor Vehicle Transport Authority (KBA) scheme. The ADAM lifestyle mini recorded total sales of 1,923 units – an increase of 13 percent. The new Astra allows played its part in October with an increase of 3 percent despite de facto only having been delivered since mid-October. The ergonomics and flexibility champion Meriva registered growth of 14 percent in October and took first place in the MPV-B segment with 1,318 units.
