Moving to Prague for work

Let's start with Ivan who is currently working for one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies on the market. 

IVAN: Product Specialist, Prague

"After my contract expired in a company in Croatia, and since at that time it was more than four years since my girlfriend went to Prague for practical diploma work, and also with my encouraging stayed there for PhD I decided to come to join her in Prague. Despite the fact that I couldn't speak more than few words of Czech, over time there is nothing that can`t be learnt. I can now understand at lot and am learning new words every day. However, I am still having a hard time in making meaningful conversation except few simple sentences but this will change I am sure.

Before that I had been visiting Prague couple of times and had a great time during every visit. The amount of foreign people living and working or just visiting Prague every day of the year still fascinates me. Accommodation is a bit more expensive than in Croatia but renting one apartment instead of two covered the difference.

Finding a new job is always hard, especially in another country without good knowledge of local language, but I was lucky to find a really excellent and professional advisor which guided me through the recruitment process; from initial interview to signing employment contract with a international company. Even my social life is improving because the company I'm working for is a really multicultural environment where I meet new people from different countries from different departments and positions every day. My employer gives me the opportunity to visit new countries, be exposed to new cultures and meet lots of new people. They have given me the ability to learn from them and to feel secure enough to call Prague a new home.

I would personally recommend Prague to everyone who would like to visit it, or seek a new beginning and future development
