Giese & Partner Opens New Office in Bratislava
Opposing the current trend of downsizing, the international law firm Giese & Partner with its base office in Prague, opened a new office in Slovakia in June. For more than a decade the firm has ranked as one of the Czech Republic’s most prominent law firms, providing advice to investors from Europe, North America and Asia for international transactions as well as cross-border insolvency and restructuring cases.
Giese & Partner’s Prague team composed of 25 lawyers from Germany, Great Britain, the United States and the Czech Republic now works directly with German and Slovak lawyers based in the Bratislava branch. Martin Holler, one of the firm’s founding office partners, commented, “Until now, we have worked on our Slovak projects from the Prague office. As part of our continued expansion strategy, we decided to open a branch in Slovakia. While many law firms in the region are closing branches or streamlining their activities, we still believe that there are significant opportunities open to us in Slovakia.” At present, the firm is involved in various cross-border insolvency and restructuring cases in the automobile and air transport industries as well as in large real estate projects.
