Most awards in this year’s Law Firm of the Year contest organized each year by epravo.cz went to Weil, Gotshal & Manges. The firm received the main award for the best international law firm in the Czech Republic and three other awards, specifically in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Arbitration & Dispute Resolution categories, with one of the Firm’s prominent lawyers being named the Dealmaker of the Year.
The winners are chosen by a group of independent appraisers from among firms and institutions together with the organizer, epravo.cz, as an independent entity monitoring, on a long-term basis, lawyer activities in the Czech Republic.
Weil’s Office in Prague won the award in the main category International Law Firm of the Year, one it has received also in 2011, 2012, and 2013.
“I consider the fact that we have received this prestigious award for the fourth time in the last five years an extraordinary success which corresponds with the long-time rating of our Office by reputable foreign agencies. I am equally pleased by awards obtained in professional categories”, so much the Firm’s Managing Partner, Karel Muzikář.
The Prague Branch of the US-based Law Firm was also chosen as the Firm of the Year in the Mergers & Acquisitions (for the sixth consecutive time) and Arbitration & Litigation (having received the award previously also in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013) categories.
At the same time, the prominent economic server motejlek.com named one of the Firm’s partners, Mr. Martin Kramář, as the Dealmaker of the Year, an award for excellence intended for attorneys to appreciate their ability to identify/implement interesting transactions for their respective offices.
“I perceive the awards received by us as a proof that our way is right. We always strive to provide our clients with the best services possible without distinguishing between those private and institutional. Our lawyers always approach assignments with utmost care, and I am sure that this finds a reflection in our results. Incidentally, I believe that the multi-billion disputes successfully litigated on behalf of the Czech Republic during the recent years, or the tens of billions of korunas saved in international arbitrations speak for all”, Muzikář adds.
