Prague Airport has launched new innovations for passenger. It now guarantees all passengers the option of purchasing bottled water for less than EUR 1 (CZK 27) after passing through passport control and security screening. In the winter season, the company will also offer 8-day parking directly at the airport from CZK 590, thus fulfilling its commitment given to the general public in September 2015. These positive changes have resulted from the long-term goal of improving the airport environment and services, as communicated in the “Enhancing Your Airport Experience” campaign.
The favourably-priced winter parking offer will be in place from 1 November 2015 to 31 March 2016. The guaranteed price of bottled water is not time-limited and will be available at all beverage automats located at the airport.
Previously- introduced changes to parking and gastronomical services have already yielded their first results. From June 2015, the number of online bookings of parking spots at the airport has grown by 90% year-on-year. Thanks to improvements to the price/quality ratio, the number of guests at the airport restaurants has doubled.
8-Day Parking for CZK 590
The price of 8-day parking at the covered PD Holiday parking building on the premises of Václav Havel Airport Prague will drop to CZK 590 during the winter season. From 1 November 2015 until 31 March 2016, this favourable offer, during which parking in Aeroparking buildings (i.e. PA Smart, PC Comfort and PD Holiday) will be lowered by around 25% when compared with the regular pricelist, will be available to all passengers who book and pay for parking online at www.aeroparking.cz.
“We started lowering prices for airport parking last June. The number of online bookings rewarded with the bonus price grew by 90% during the summer months when compared with the same period in the previous year. We want to create conditions which make Aeroparking the customers’ first choice. Therefore, we have decide to make parking at the airport even more attractive, offering unmatched prices at parking buildings designed for long-term parking,” Václav Řehoř, Chairman of the Czech Aeroholding Board of Directors, said. He also noted that effective 1 November, it will be possible to pay to use the PA Smart parking building by card or in cash on the spot, as opposed to the past when only online payments were accepted.
1 EURO Bottled Water
Price adjustments are not limited to parking only, but also include refreshments. Half-litre bottles of water can now be purchased by passengers at all automats located at Václav Havel Airport Prague for less than one EUR. While the price of bottled water within the restricted area will be CZK 27, automats located in the public area will offer it even more cheaply – for CZK 22. Coffee will cost around CZK 25 and soda will be priced between CZK 20 and 40, based on the drink selected. Both terminals also feature complimentary drinking fountains for passengers.
“We promised passengers we would start offering bottled water for less than one EUR in September. I am really happy that, working with a new supplier of beverage automats, we were able to adjust beverage prices at the beginning of the winter season. We are continuing our negotiations with renters of airport space regarding the option of improving the price/quality ratio. The airport-run restaurant, Praha, already features main courses from CZK 81,” Václav Řehoř added.
Price changes represent one of the steps of the campaign sub-headlined: “Enhancing Your Airport Experience” with the goal of facilitating the long-term improvement of services, primarily targeting Czech passengers. In the area of gastronomy, where prices were reduced and quality increased at selected restaurants, first results have already been experienced. Since July 2015, the number of passengers visiting restaurants operated by the airport has increased by 100%.
