Continued expansion at CMS Prague

CMS Prague has expanded its team with the hire of two new lawyers. Advocate Ivana Meňhartová has joined the Banking & Finance team, while Filip Gvozdek has joined the Commercial, Regulatory and Disputes team as a koncipient. Meanwhile Lukáš Valúšek and Petr Korál, who both joined the firm in the summer of 2014, have successfully passed their bar exam.

Helen Rodwell, Managing Partner at CMS Prague, comments: “We continue to be very busy and I am happy that we have been able to add two more talented lawyers to the team. We strongly believe in our strategy of hiring talented young lawyers with the prospect of offering them long term careers with the firm. The fact that we have also been able to retain two lawyers that have recently passed their bar exam is a further confirmation of this strategy.”

Ivana Meňhartová (30) joined the firm as an advocate in the Banking & Finance team. She has broad experience in advising both lenders and borrowers on acquisition financing, project as well as real estate development financing. Prior to joining CMS Ivana worked as a junior associate at internationally based law firms where she focused on advising financial institutions and corporates.

Filip Gvozdek (24), a recent graduate from the Charles University, joined the firm’s Commercial, Regulatory and Disputes team. While completing his law studies Filip worked as a paralegal in an international and domestic law firm in Prague. At CMS his main focus will be on litigation.

Lukáš Valúšek (34) successfully passed the Czech bar exam this autumn. Lukáš joined the Banking & Finance team at CMS in the summer of 2014. Prior to going into private practice, he worked as in-house counsel at various banks in the Czech Republic for over 7 years. He advises on banking regulatory matters, capital markets, structured finance transactions as well as real estate and project finance.

Petr Korál (31) passed the bar exam this autumn. He is an advocate in the Real Estate & Construction team advising both Czech and international companies on real estate M&A as well as on construction projects, construction litigation and leasing of commercial real estate. Petr joined the firm in 2014.
