JŠK and honert + partner advised INVEN CAPITAL on its investment in Sunfire

JŠK and honert + partner represented INVEN CAPITAL, a venture capital arm of ČEZ, in the acquisition of a minority stake in the German company Sunfire.

INVEN CAPITAL identifies opportunities for investing in innovative cleantech firms in Europe and targets later stage growth opportunities with business models proven by sales and with significant growth potential. 

Sunfire develops and produces high-temperature solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and high-temperature electrolysis cells (SOECs) with applications in multiple markets. It was the winner of the Industry category at the Energy Awards 2015. 

INVEN CAPITAL stated: “The investment in Sunfire has met our strict selection criteria by both the uniqueness of their technology, which allows faster commercialization than competitive products, and their business model involving partners with an extensive customer base. We believe that Sunfire can support significantly the transition towards decentralized energy generation and reduction of CO2 in the atmosphere. JŠK and Honert + partner helped us to close the transaction in a rather challenging timeframe, combining efficiently a hands-on German team with local support when needed.”
