The Mobile TV application has already been downloaded by 80,000 customers, of whom 79% downloaded it for Android devices. The Start plan has been extended to include the Prima MAX channel, the Komplet plan to include Prima MAX and Filmbox Premium channels. Until 30 January 2016, the Start plan is free of charge and is not counted against the mobile data limit.
The Mobilní TV (“Mobile TV”) service, which is being provided to customers free of charge until the end of January as part of the special Christmas offer without being counted against the mobile data limit, has met with a very positive response from customers. Customers particularly appreciate the fact that the new service does not consume any mobile data from the data allowance and that the application features handy functions. Mobile TV has already been downloaded by 80,000 customers, placing the application among the top 50 applications in the Google Store list in November.
“We are glad that customers have been discovering the world of modern television and that they like the Mobile TV application. We will continue to develop the service further. We have now expanded both plans to include the Prima Max channel, and the Komplet plan also the Filmbox Premium channel,” says Tomáš Ryšavý, Vice President Residential Segment and Product Marketing at T-Mobile.
As part of the Christmas offer, customers can use the Start plan, which newly includes the Prima Max channel, free of charge until 30 January 2016. The Komplet plan is available for a discounted price of CZK 180 per month until the end of January 2016 (instead of the standard price of CZK 299). Offering a mix of film, sports, documentary and children’s channels, it has now been expanded with Prima Max and the exclusive Filmbox Premium channel intended for real film enthusiasts.
The initial statistics show that more than one-half of connections are made via Wi-Fi where, however, customers have perceived slightly worse transmission quality. Conversely, users of the fastest mobile internet service, LTE, appreciate perfect picture quality.
The largest percentage of users (79%) downloaded the mobile application for the Android operating system. Mobile handsets prevail (65%) against tablets, on which the application is used by 35% of users. An interesting fact is that in the case of Mobile TV, prime time is shifted to 10 p.m. as compared with standard home television, where prime time is between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Customers can thus better manage their free time after work – they can go to the gym or for a drink with friends and then watch their favourite programme later. Users of Mobile TV very much appreciate the programme archives, from which they can watch programmes aired up to 48 hours before without having to record them. If users record a programme, they can watch it any time during the next seven days. Higher viewing figures than in the case of standard TV have been reported, for example, by the Prima Cool film and series channel, news coverage on ČT24 and the Óčko music channel.
