The antitrust practice of JŠK, advokátní kancelář, s.r.o. would like to announce the arrival of JUDr. Michal Petr, Ph.D. onto the team.
Until recently, Michal was the deputy chairman of the Czech Competition Authority (CCA) in charge of competition matters. He will retain some relationship with the CCA and – amongst other things – will participate in the rule making process.
Michal has been involved in competition law for more than 10 years and has acted as deputy chairman of the CCA for the past 5 years. He also teaches competition law at the Palacký University in Olomouc and Masaryk University in Brno. Michal has written a number of articles and books and is a member of the editorial board of Antitrust – revue of competition law. He will particularly focus on advisory in the area of fair process, cartels and the EU/Czech law matters.
Roman Kramařík, partner of JŠK, says: “The Czech Republic is a very small market. Maintaining a good quality of comprehensive competition practice is rather difficult and there are only a few really good competition lawyers. Because Michal clearly belongs amongst them, we are very happy that he has decided to join our firm. Particularly now – when the CCA is clearly increasing the number and size of penalties and when we can also expect the first cases of private enforcement of breaches of competition law“.
JŠK is a mid-sized law firm delivering services for clients in all areas of commercial law, with particular experience in finance and banking, insurance, construction, real estate and energy regulation.
