A new mobile booth with Aerosnack refreshments, offering daily fresh baguettes and sandwiches to passengers will become the latest addition to Václav Havel Airport Prague’s gastronomy. Baguettes and sandwiches will cost CZK 69 when purchased alone, while a snack and drink combo will be CZK 89. Effective 1 March 2016, passengers will be able to see the booth behind the security screening in Terminal 2 and, later in the month, it will also make its rounds in Terminal 1. By launching the Aerosnack service, Prague Airport continues its “Enhancing Your Airport Experience” campaign with the goal of responding promptly to the needs of passengers and, alongside other things, offering a better price/quality ratio of products and services.
“The mobile Aerosnack booth is the next of many upgrades in the area of gastronomy through which the airport attempts to target primarily Czech passengers, whose numbers have been growing year-on-year. The operator will offer passengers fresh, quality snacks at affordable prices. Passengers will even be able to take a baguette or sandwich with a drink on board in Terminal 1, where security screening is performed after the point of purchase. A booth worker will wrap the drink with the receipt in a sealable STEB bag. This will allow passengers to carry their purchases to the aircraft despite the restrictions on liquids,” Jiří Petržilka, member of the Prague Airport Board of Directors, explains.
The mobile booth will carry a total of 3 different kinds of baguettes, 3 different sandwiches, salads and 6 alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Throughout the day, the booth will move around both Václav Havel Airport Prague terminals with regular stops at two points in Terminal 1 and three points in Terminal 2. It will be operated daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. According to a statement from Mr. Petržilka, it is possible that the hours of operation will be extended: “At the moment, we are launching pilot operations, during which we will monitor interest among passengers and, based on the results, we will potentially adjust the offers and character of the service.”
Prague Airport will itself manage the production of baguettes and sandwiches from both white and dark bread with various fillings. It already operates several restaurants with affordable prices, such as the Prague self-service restaurant in Terminal 1, where the airport offers meals from CZK 81 and soups from CZK 17.
For greater comfort upon payment, the booth crews will accept card and cash payments in CZK and EUR.
