Driver of the discussion that was held at AmCham on April 13 - Peter Sokol of CSR Consult: There are just two conditions – the “responsibility” must be measurable and the public organization must be aware of so called responsible (public) procurement.
Responsible procurement permits public institutions and local authorities to take into account social and environmental issues in public procurement and purchasing of goods and services of selected social issues (e.g. employment of disadvantaged people, support for education, reduction of the negative impact on the environment, etc.).
Once we manage to use this concept within Czech state, regional and municipal procurement it may have a huge impact on Czech market since it opens opportunities for social enterprises, green businesses and other organizations that do business with added (either social or environmental) value.
What kind of companies is the topic for?
Attached please find Guide on Responsible procurement (in Czech language).
