Backround:
A key task of cost management is the sustainable securing of the efficient and effective application of a company’s financial and material resources. In doing so, cost management essentially contributes to financing important investment projects. Thus, the study’s aim is to provide general insights into the operational cost management and – in light of different macroeconomic developments such as the volatile resource prices or the period of low interest rates – to examine the relationship between a holistic cost management and the financing of investments.
