Johnson & Johnson plans to expand in Prague

Johnson & Johnson, the world’s most broadly based healthcare company, plans to expand its business operations in Prague, the Czech Republic. The company expects to increase its Prague-based headcount by more than 300 employees over next 3 years. The company’s growth plan in the Czech Republic is based on the region’s strong talent pool, favorable location as a key European hub and positive business climate.

The Global Services organization of Johnson & Johnson Corporation was established in Prague in March 2006 with the aim to support the Finance operations of its business affiliates in the EMEA region. Prague was selected because of its strategic location, economic conditions, and the availability of language skills.

All started with Procure to Pay process called Ap2ple (widely pronounced as Apple) and after its fast success it was agreed that there will be more activities moved from local Business affiliates to our center. Over the past 10 years GS Prague has on-boarded multiple activities and projects growing into a team of more than 450 professionals, representing 45 nationalities. We support Finance in all three Johnson & Johnson sectors – Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, and Consumer; and we co-operate with corporate operations and other Centers of Excellence around the world to build close partnerships in order to excel and use the best business practices. 

Consequently in addition to Finance the Prague organization will be the General Service center for other functions – and these are: Procurement, Human Resource, and possibly Informational Technologies. In response to the growth of the Prague organization, we are planning to move to a new office in 2018, where Global Services will be joined by all other Business operations, creating a One J&J campus.
