Allen & Overy announced today that Hana Skalická has joined its Prague office bolstering the firm’s tax litigation practice.
Hana Skalická is an advocate and experienced litigation associate with a special interest in tax and administrative law litigation. Hana joins a local tax team headed by Michal Dušek and will be working closely with Mikuláš Touška in A&O's Prague dispute resolution group.
A&O's tax practice offers a multi-jurisdictional tax advisory service both on a stand-alone basis and as an integral part of the full legal service offered by the firm. The tax practice in Prague excels in advising a wide range of Czech and non-Czech financial institutions and large corporates and is renowned for being innovative and, most importantly, providing practical and commercial advice.
Mikuláš Touška, head of A&O's litigation, arbitration and regulatory practices in the Czech Republic, commented: "Hana's experience in both tax and commercial litigation, international taxation structuring and European Community Law makes her a very good fit with our existing tax advisory/transaction services plus our administrative and commercial litigation practice."
Prior to joining A&O, Hana was a tax specialist in the tax litigation department in the Prague office of KPMG and prior to that a tax and litigation consultant in the Prague office of PricewaterhouseCoopers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and finance with First Class Honours from The Nottingham Trent University, Brno Business School, a law degree from Masaryk University in Brno and a Ph.D. from Brno University of Technology. She spent part of her law studies at the Law Faculty of Lund University in Sweden, where she deepened her knowledge of European Community Law, especially European Court of Justice procedure. Hana was admitted to the Czech Bar in 2009.
