Miroslav Kubec WACS Continental Director for Central Europe

Miroslav Kubec, Executive Chef of the hotel InterContinental Praha in Prague (Czech Republic) and President of the Czech Association of Chefs and Pastry Chefs (AKC CR), triumphed at the 34th Congress of the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS), which was held 24th – 28th January 2010 in Santiago de Chile.

The 28th January 2010 at 16:00 CET, Miroslav Kubec was almost unanimously voted WACS Continental Director for Central Europe for a term of four years.

"I am very proud! For me, the AKC CZ and indeed the Czech Republic is an honor because we have candidated for the first time in the 80-year history of WACS existence, "said Kubec, immediately after the official results were announced.

"I know that we in the AKC CR have now a lot of work ahead of us, but we are looking forward to it. We will have a unique opportunity to promote the Bohemian cuisine and the culinary art of Czech chefs. I hope that I will not disappoint the trust of those who have supported me and I thank everyone who kept the fingers crossed for me, "said Miroslav Kubec.

2008: During the WACS congress in Dubai, a honorary membership and a medal of the WACS President were awarded for having organised the European Culinary Presidents Conference, as well as for having actively supported the activities of the World Association of Chefs Societies WACS
2009: A St. Laurence Cross award was received duringthe General Assembly of the Czech Association of Chefs and Pastry Chefs
2010: WACS Continental Director for Central Europe for a term of four years.
