Slovak B&C sector has not yet reached its bottom

CEEC Research in cooperation with KPMG Czech Republic conducted a research of the Slovak building and construction sector. Building companies expect continuing decrease in 2010, return to growth might come in 2011.
The main findings of the study are as follows:
- B&C companies expect decrease in the sector by 3,2 % in 2010, stabilisation and return to growth is expected in 2011 by some of the respondents.
- In 2010 companies predict that their sales will decrease by 0,3 %.
- B&C companies’ confidence has dropped – just 53 % of them expect to perform better than their competitors.
- Capacities utilization has decreased significantly to 65 %.
- All respondents feel that their growth is limited.
- The key priority for construction companies in the next twelve months is improvement in their business/operational efficiency.
