Berendsen begins operation near Velké Pavlovice; 100 million Czk investment completed

Jones Lang LaSalle is pleased to announce the completion of the construction of the Berendsen Textil Servis s.r.o. („Berendsen“) plant in the newly opened industrial zone of Velké Pavlovice. The 100 million Czk investment of Berendsen, a European leader in textile services, is completed.

Miroslav Kotek, Consultant in the Industrial Department of Jones Lang LaSalle, explains: “Already in 2008 we were instructed by Berendsen via the Danish Embassy in Prague to search for an appropriate plot for their new plant in the Czech Republic. Our role was to identify the most appropriate location for the company, conduct the search, organize viewings and meetings with owners, provide market data, present strategic information about the region and provide support during contract negotiations.

After almost 12 months of viewing relevant locations and conducting negotiations, a purchase contract was signed for 11,000 sq m in the industrial zone of Velké Pavlovice. The logistics centre and industrial laundry was built within 8 months from the signing of the contract. From March 2010 the plant will begin operation. The 100 million Czk investment brings new working opportunities into the region and the city of Velké Pavlovice, which is undoubtedly a welcomed step, due to the current market conditions and record unemployment.“ 

Ing. Tomáš Střelský, Operations Director, Berendsen Textil Servis s.r.o. adds: “This is the first activity of Berendsen in the Central European region. Our intention is to offer our services not only in the Czech Republic, but also in neighboring countries, given the plant’s location. Our company is distinguishable not only by its unique product offer but also by its above standard services and customer focus. We strive to be innovative and follow the latest trends in the industry, giving future development a direction.“

The commercial department of the Danish Embassy played a key role in the entry of Berendsen on the Czech market. Mgr. Jana Blažková, Commercial Officer at the Danish Embassy comments: “The Embassy of Denmark contributed to the smooth execution of the investment by Berendsen, the coordination of contacts with the municipality of Velké Pavlovice, as well as other institutions and organizations. Berendsen offers a unique service and I am convinced that we will be hearing of another potential investment from their side in the near future.”
