Student team supported by PricewaterhouseCoopers wins another chance to represent the Czech Republic in Global Management Challenge world finals

7.04.2010
Company: PricewaterhouseCoopers Česká republika, s.r.o.

Student team supported by PricewaterhouseCoopers Czech Republic (PwC) took the win in the national finals of the Global Management Challenge competition (GMC) on 17 March 2010. Five students from the University of Economics, Prague (Vysoká škola ekonomická v Praze) and the University of Finance and Administration (Vysoká škola finanční a správní) repeated their success from last year and defended the title of Czech Champions for the PwC team.

Studentský tým podporovaný PricewaterhouseCoopers bude opět reprezentovat Českou republiku v celosvětovém finále soutěže Global Management Challenge

The winning team is named EurM10 and consists of four students from Vysoká škola ekonomická in Prague – Ján Hazlo, Jiří Kostelecký, Martin Procházka, and Michal Walos, together with Lubomír Kříž from Vysoká škola finanční a správní. In mid-May, they will travel to the international finals of the competition that will take place in Russia.

„We are delighted with the repeated victory of our team because it rewards our commitment to supporting talented people in their development and team collaboration. We provide the student team with professional training in our PwC Business Academy training centre, where they attend specialised courses together with PwC clients,“ said Jana Byczkowska, Human Resources senior manager, PricewaterhouseCoopers Czech Republic.

This will be the third time that PricewaterhouseCoopers has had strong ties to a team representing the Czech Republic in GMC global finals. Three years ago, during the world finals in Macao, China, the team named Specnaz won, with three of its five members being PwC employees or interns.

Enduring interest by Business Students in PricewaterhouseCoopers

The careful selection of new colleagues and investments in employees are one of the priorities of PricewaterhouseCoopers. PwC’s second place spot (behind first-place Google) on Universum’s list of “The World’s Top 50 Most Attractive Employers” for business students confirms the success of this approach.

PricewaterhouseCoopers Czech Republic is one of the most desired employers for many Czech business students, too. According to Student Barometr 2009 by Trendence Institut Berlin, PwC is the most desired employer among consulting companies on the Czech market. The Institute polled more than 4000 business students in the Czech Republic. PricewaterhouseCoopers is permanently among the top 10 most desired employers according to the student organisation AIESEC, polling Czech business students.
