Starting 1 October a leading expert in the financial sector, the former vice-governor of the Czech National Bank (CNB) Luděk Niedermayer, will join the Czech branch of the advisory and audit company Deloitte. Luděk will start as a director in the Consulting department where he will predominantly focus on advisory and analyses carried out for financial institutions.
“I believe that my new work to a certain extent is connected to my activities in the CNB. The objective of Deloitte is to assist financial institutions in achieving more efficient operations and maximum stability. And that is, after all, also the objective of the central bank”, commented Luděk upon his joining of Deloitte and added: “I am happy that I will be active in the private sector and on local markets”.
“At a time when the financial world is facing formidable challenges we are pleased to have a prominent Czech banking expert join our firm” stated Michal Petrman the office managing partner of Deloitte.
Luděk left his position as CNB vice-governor in February after having been active on the CNB Board for 12 years, which is the maximum term for such position. During his activities in the CNB, he was not only a reputable expert in macro-economics in the financial sector but also for the public, which may already know him through his various presentations in the media.
Born in Brno in 1966 Luděk studied specialised mathematics at the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University (currently Masaryk University). Married with three children, Luděk enjoys cycling, skiing, reading and modern art and appreciates fine food and the best vintage wines of Moravia.
