David Borkovec appointed Partner of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Tax and Legal Services department

15.06.2010
Company: PricewaterhouseCoopers Česká republika, s.r.o.

“The new government brings a less complicated tax environment, maybe higher rates,” expects the new PwC Tax Partner.

pwcDavid Borkovec has been appointed Partner of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Tax and Legal Services department. In his new role he will be responsible mainly for advising Czech companies and their owners in the areas of international tax planning and transfer pricing.

David has been with PricewaterhouseCoopers since 1999 and has specialised in corporate income tax advisory. He has focused on proposing tax-favourable holding and finance structures, the restructuring of companies, the tax aspects of international transactions, and transfer-pricing methodology, documentation and advance rulings.

“On the one hand we have the deepening Czech public finance deficit, on the other hand we have a new government – both will bring a number of tax changes. I expect companies and entrepreneurs to experience easier tax compliance, such as integration of tax and social security contributions. However, the new government may also not be able to avoid the necessity of an increase on the income side of the national budget, mainly in the form of certain higher tax rates. In my new role, I will aim at leveraging my experience and knowledge to make the tax changes implementation for our clients as smooth as possible,” David said.

David graduated from the Prague University of Economics. He is a member of the Czech Chamber of Tax Advisors and the Tax Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Prague. David is married with two children. He is fond of mountain biking.
