Jan Spáčil, a partner of Ambruz & Dark Law Firm, was elected as chairman of the board of Transparency International Czech Republic (TIC).
In this position, he is to replace Václav Láska, who will continue working for TIC as a consultant on individual projects. Spáčil has been a member of the board since June 2010. His election to this office comes as an appreciation of the work he has done for TIC. Ambruz & Dark provides pro bono legal counselling for TIC in selected cases of importance, thus contributing to the creation of a more transparent environment in the Czech Republic.
Jan Spáčil graduated from Masaryk University and obtained his LLM from Nottingham Trent University. Since 1997, he has worked for Coopers & Lybrand, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ambruz & Dark, where he became a partner in 2002. He specialises in commercial law, Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Governance.
Transparency International Czech Republic (TIC) - is a non-governmental non-profit organisation whose mission is to monitor levels of corruption in the Czech Republic and to pursue improvements in this area. Primarily, TIC focuses on pursuing systemic changes not only in public administration and legislation but also in the private sector. Apart from long-term projects focusing on specific issues (e.g., issues of public procurement, conflict of interest or the management of public assets), TIC also provides legal and educational services.
