Juggler Pupa at the courtyard of Nelahozeves Castle
On the 16th and 17th of April, Nelahozeves Castle will host the 9th annual Spring Pottery Market a two-day family-oriented festival celebrating traditional Bohemian crafts and ceramics. Visitors of all ages will enjoy viewing the unique, handmade products of over 120 local artisans and touring the Castle’s permanent exhibition, Private Spaces: A Noble Family at Home, with guides in period costumes.
Our younger visitors can look forward to falconry shows and historical games in the gardens, craft workshops and puppet theater in the Castle interiors, and jugglers and other amusements in the Castle courtyard.
Throughout the weekend Lobkowicz Catering will prepare favorite Czech specialities including goulash, sausage, potato pancakes and apple strudel, and will also serve award-winning Lobkowicz wine and beer. And when a bit of rest is called for, a traditional tea room in the cellars will provide a welcome respite and add a bit of sweetness to the day.
Located adjacent to the Castle, the childhood home of Antonín Dvořák, the reknowned Czech composer, and the Church of St. Andrew, in whose choir Dvořák performed as a young boy, will also be open to the public.
