Hilton Prague & Hilton Prague Old Town joined the “World Kindness Day”

Hilton hotels in Prague joined the World Kindness Day, which was a worldwide Hilton initiative organized on November 13, 2008. The aim was to highlight “kindness” as the core of the Hilton hospitality, not only towards the Hilton guests but also the Hilton Team. The activities at the Hilton Prague & Hilton Prague Old Town included donation of clothes by Hilton team to local charity, complimentary hot wine offer for Hilton guests and a joint celebration of team members‘ birthday. All of the 3.000 Hilton hotels worldwide supported this initiative.
Both Prague hotels participated in many ways. Team members from Hilton Prague and Hilton Prague Old Town collected old clothes, which were together with retiered hotel equipment handed over to a local charity Naděje (Hope) supporting homeless and lonesome people. The collection of the clothes was so extensive that it hardly fit in the hotel van.
To convey the Kindness Day message to the guests, a special stand was put up in the lobby offering complimentary hot wine as a welcome drink. It was very much appreciated during a cold day. The wine station was lively, various nationalities mixed at the station to taste this traditional winter drink and enjoyed the warm welcome.
A special birthday celebration was organized for all team members born during the “Kindness Week“ between November 10 and 16. Members of the Team enjoyed a get together with sparkling wine, Hilton cake and congratulations from the hotel management.
Hilton hotels in Prague support those in need not only during such events as the “World Kindness Day“ but have a long-term cooperation with a charity organization Chance 4 Children that has been working on behalf of institutionalized, terminally ill and socially disadvantaged children. As every December for the last 11 years Hilton hotels in Prague organize a Charity Christmas concert, this year on December 21st. Proceeds from the collection benefit Chance 4 Children.
