Hilton Prague Hosts Philippine Food Festival “Fiesta Filipina”

5.10.2011
Company: Hilton Prague Hotel & Hilton Prague Old Town

Hilton Prague is proud to announce it will be hosting a Philippine Food Festival from October 22 to October 28 in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in the Czech Republic. H.E. Mrs. Evelyn Austria-Garcia, Ambassador
of Philippines in the Czech Republic, will officially inaugurate the festival on 21 October.

The aim is to enhance the public image of the Philippines and to introduce its fantastic culture to Europe and the Czech Republic. The Philippines is an exciting travel destination and was chosen the culture capital of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
in 2011.

Marilu Rogriguez Scheich, born in Philippines to a family known for its restaurants and good food, is travelling to Prague especially for this occasion. She will be Hilton Prague’s guest chef during this event and will prepare authentic Philippine cuisine.  During the festival, guests will have an opportunity to taste traditional Philippine dishes and savour typical Philippine flavours, all based on traditional ingredients and complemented with a special cocktail, the Philippine Sling – called “Mabuhay Manila.”

Lunch and dinner buffets will be served at Hilton Prague’s Café Bistro. The restaurant will be decorated with Philippine inspired decor to truly set the scene and to create an authentic Philippine experience. On October 22 and 23, guests can enjoy performances by Philippine Artist and Soloist Theresa Brossmer and a unique dance group Tribong Pinoy, who dance to raise money for vulnerable children in the Philippines.

Fiesta Filipina will be held from October 22 to October 28, 2011 at the Café Bistro. Lunch will be served from 11.30am to 2.30pm and dinner will be served from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.  Price per person is 990 CZK and includes an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring traditional starters, main courses, side dishes and desserts.

The Philippine Sling will be served for 190 CZK. Ingredients include Gordons Gin, fresh lemon, sugar syrup, mango juice, guava juice, and grenadine.
