The Ambassador of the Philippines Inaugurated the Fiesta Filipina at the Hilton Prague

PRAGUE, Czech Republic, – (24 October 2011) – On October 21, Fiesta Filipina culinary festival was opened at the Hilton Prague. The festival was inaugurated by H.E. Mrs. Evelyn Austria-Garcia, Ambassador of Philippines in the Czech Republic accompanied by Daniel Habersatter, Hotel Manager of the Hilton Prague. Guests could admire traditional dance group Tribong Pinoy and the artist and soloist Theresa Brossmer. The culinary festival takes place in Café Bistro of the Hilton Prague till October 28, authentic Philippine dishes are prepared by the guest chef Marilu Rodriguez Scheich.
During the festival, guests will have the opportunity not only to taste traditional Philippine food but also get to know culture of this unique destination.
The Festival is open to public daily from 11.30am to 2.30pm and from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. Price per person is 990 CZK and includes an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring traditional starters, main courses, side dishes and desserts. A special Philippine cocktail Mabuhay Manila will be served for 190 CZK.
Typical dishes at Philippine Fiestas are fried spring rolls PRITONG LUMPIA, whole roasted pig LECHON, mutton or beef stew KALDERETA, desserts with coconut milk and many other specialties.
Philippine cuisine is flavored by a rich variety of herbs and spices found all over the islands. Aside from the many tropical fruits and vegetables grown in the mountains and plains, fish, meat and poultry are also a major part of the Philippine meals. Contact with foreign cultures resulted in interesting blends of flavors with Philippine cuisine.
