CMS STARTS UNIQUE LEGAL TRAINING FOR CZECH BANKERS

7.12.2011
Company: CMS

CMS Cameron McKenna, a leading international law firms in the Czech Republic, announces the launch of a unique training programme for bankers. The CMS Banking Masterclass, which will run between late January and March next year, is a series of four seminars that provides an in-depth overview of the documentation, structuring and restructuring of finance transactions.

“There is generally no comprehensive training of this type and most bankers and in-house counsel have to learn ‘on the job’,” says Head of CMS Prague’s Banking & Finance team Pavla Křečková. “The CMS Banking Masterclass addresses this and aims to give bankers and in-house counsel an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of lending documentation.”

The Masterclass is tailored for junior to mid-level bankers and in-house counsel that frequently deal with LMA documentation and other standard agreements, and aims to give a concise and practical overview of the key issues arising in finance transactions. It deals with both Czech and English law governed documents.

The Masterclass will also include a session on newer financial structures that are increasingly being used in the Czech Republic. Mark Segall, Prague-based partner in the firm’s CEE Banking & Finance Group, comments: “The finance products in the Czech market are in the process of rapid sophistication. In addition to standard documentation, these seminars offer the opportunity to become familiar with highly topical issues for lenders such as the relationship between loans and high yield bonds. The maturing of the market makes awareness of hybrid capital structures a must for bankers.”

The seminars will be run by Czech and English qualified partners and senior associates of CMS Prague and of the CEE Banking Group. In addition to Pavla Křečková and Mark Segall, Ana Radnev, Mills Kirin and Miroslav Kovář will lead the seminars.
