Hilton Hotels in Prague Organized 15th Christmas Charity Concert

12.01.2012
Company: Hilton Prague Hotel & Hilton Prague Old Town

On Sunday, December 18, Hilton Prague and Hilton Prague Old Town took pleasure in organising the annual Christmas Charity Concert for the hotels’ guests and business partners. It has been now for the 15th year in a row since the evening is held and the 5th year in a row since it is organised by two Hilton hotels in Prague. Michael Specking, general manager of both Hilton Prague & Hilton Prague Old Town, together with Lenka Piskova, marketing & public relations manager, were delighted to hand over a cheque to the value of CZK 75,000 to the Tereza Maxova Detem Foundation, who work to help children in need

The International Female Choir Viva Voce conducted by Sona Frydlova brought the Christmas atmosphere with carols sung in different languages. Then a set of renowned classical melodies was performed by the Philharmonic Orchestra of South Bohemia conducted by Petr Chromcak. Special guests of the evening were violinist Bohuslav Matousek and singer Daniel Hulka.

The Tereza Maxova Detem Foundation, and in particular an educational project called ‘Under the Wings’, benefits from proceeds raised through two charity campaigns at Hilton Prague and Hilton Prague Old Town.

Both hotels have been participating in the “Small Change, Big Difference” campaign organised by the Hilton in the Community Foundation, which has been running since October 2011. The campaign invited Hilton guests to add an optional 1 euro or its equivalent in the respective local currency onto their room bill during their stay.

Additionally, the hotels have been supporting another Hilton in the Community Foundation activity, ‘Ducks for Change’, since January 2011. Throughout the campaign, hotel guests had the opportunity to buy collectable sets of rubber ducks, for just CZK 150 per box
of 3 ducks.

Hilton hotels in Prague would like to thank sponsors and partners who have contributed to the organization of the event. General Partner was Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen, the private banking of Raiffeisenbank a.s. with support of Eni Czech republic, s.r.o., Gesto Computers spol. s.r.o. and Diamond Club.
