Chambers: CMS Ranked Tier 1 for M&A in the Czech Republic

19.03.2012
Company: CMS

The prestigious legal publisher Chambers & Partners has recognised CMS as one of the leading Corporate and M&A law firms in the Czech Republic. The new Chambers Global – a Guide to the World’s leading lawyers – published today, places CMS in Tier one for Corporate and M&A advice and includes partner and practice group head Helen Rodwell and partner Ian Parker as leading lawyers in this practice area. The new guide includes three partners in Prague in its Banking & Finance tables.

The Chambers rankings are based on extensive research and interviews conducted with lawyers and their clients. Corporate and M&A practice head Helen Rodwell commented: “We are delighted to have been ranked as a top tier law firm. Being endorsed as such by peers and clients is a great recognition for the team.”

The recognition of the Corporate and M&A team comes on the back of a very successful last 12 months in which the firm’s Corporate and M&A team advised on matters such as MetLife’s acquisition of Aviva Czech Life from Aviva; Mid Europa Partner’s acquisition of shares in ENERGY 21; and Advent International on the acquisition of TES Vsetin and MezServis (TES).

CEE Banking head Paul Stallebrass has been ranked in Tier one for Banking & Finance together with only a handful of other practitioners in the Czech Republic. Also ranked is fellow CEE banking partner Ana Radnev. Mark Segall, who joined CMS Prague in 2010, enters the rankings for the first time as a "foreign expert" for Banking & Finance based in the Czech Republic.
