Squire Sanders Names Two Prague Lawyers as European Partners

Global law firm Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P. has selected lawyers Magda Pokorná and Danica Šebestová to be European partners, effective Jan. 1, 2009. Both lawyers are based in the firm’s Prague office.

Pokorná is a real estate lawyer, while Šebestová’s practice focuses on financial services.  “Magda and Danica are key members of our busy Prague office. Both play major roles in serving our clients at the highest levels. We are delighted they have been named European partners and I anticipate many more significant contributions from them,” said Vladimira N. Papirnik, managing partner of the firm’s Prague office.

Pokorná is an experienced real estate and corporate lawyer whose work includes mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures. She leads a team of lawyers in Prague advising clients on some of the region’s most complex real estate projects. She received her LL.M. in 2002 from Harvard University and Mgr. in 2000 from Univerzita Karlova.
Šebestová has a varied practice that includes financial services and general corporate work.  She regularly represents major financial institutions and real estate investment funds in connection with financing development and acquisition of residential, office and commercial projects throughout Central and Eastern Europe. Her corporate experience includes mergers and acquisitions. She received her LL.M. in 2004 from the University of Michigan and Mgr. from Univerzita Komenského in 2000.
