Helen Rodwell appointed as Managing Partner of CMS in Prague

With effect from May 1, Helen Rodwell will become Managing Partner of CMS in Prague. She will succeed Iveta Plachá who will become Senior Partner of the office.
Helen Rodwell has been based in the Prague office of CMS since 1999 and has been advising clients on some of largest corporate transactions in the market particularly in the financial and energy sectors. Headlines have included advising Erste Bank on the privatisation of Česká spořitelna and the Slovak Government on the privatisation of Slovenské elektrárne. More recently she advised MetLife on the acquisition of Aviva Czech Life and insurance broker and risk adviser MARSH on the acquisition of 15% of the shares of INSIA.
Helen Rodwell also oversees the firm’s CEE corporate practice group and is considered to be among the leading corporate and M&A lawyers in the region by independent sources such as Chambers & Partners and Mergermarket.
Iveta Plachá was appointed Managing Partner of CMS in Prague in January 2007. Since then, she has developed the Prague office, its position in the market and has maintained strong long-term relationships with several major clients. She has also strengthened the European capabilities of the team with the recruitment of a number of international partners. She has actively promoted our CSR policy and has personally been involved in a number of local and overseas community projects. Iveta Plachá is regarded as a leading real estate lawyer in the Czech Republic and will continue to advise clients. Additionally in her new role as Senior Partner, she will be spending more time on client work and will have an external ambassadorial role.
