Top 20 global legal practice Squire Sanders has chosen Prague as the location for its partner conference, where over 500 partners from all parts of the world will meet.
Prague (17 May 2012) – Top 20 global legal practice Squire Sanders has chosen Prague as the location for its partner conference, where over 500 partners from all parts of the world will meet. The conference, which starts today in the Hilton hotel and will end on 20 May, is the first to be held outside the US and will also be the first to involve partners from new offices in Singapore and Perth, following Squire Sanders’ recent expansion in the Asia Pacific region. The global legal practice now has 37 offices in 18 countries around the world and has recently applied for a permit to open a new office in Seoul, South Korea.
The three-day strategy meeting in Prague will help partners develop plans for pursuing client opportunities, together with providing a forum for sharing information and knowledge about practices, industries, clients and business development initiatives.
James J. Maiwurm, Squire Sanders chair and global CEO, comments: “The partner meeting is an important way for us to cement the strategic direction the business is taking and give our partners the opportunity to build relationships, share information and collaborate on global projects. On a day-to-day basis we are working together to support our clients across markets and time zones, and meetings such as this one are extremely important in bringing everyone together to share in our one firm vision and explore ways in which we can better support clients.”
Squire Sanders is one of the oldest established international legal practices in Prague. With an office in the city since 1990, Squire Sanders is one of the premier legal practices in the Czech Republic representing key local and multinational clients in important regulatory, real estate, finance and corporate matters in Central and Eastern Europe.
“Over the past 20 years we have seen considerable change in our local market. As businesses have become more sophisticated, the demand for high level legal advice has increased. We have always acted for an international client base but over the years it has been interesting to see how companies in Czech Republic and in the whole region have become more outward looking and confident in their expansion plans – and how they value seamless legal counsel across markets,” says Radek Janeček, the managing partner of the Prague office.
Maiwurm adds: “Our Prague office is a key part of our global success story. Our local team has a real depth and breadth of experience which helps our clients in Central and Eastern Europe reach out to the rest of the world.”
