Ticket sales have increased 37% year on year, with revenue up by 35% for Cheltenham Racecourse with new Kentico CMS-powered website

Company: Kentico software s.r.o.

Wokingham, UK, August 02, 2012 – Kentico Software (www.kentico.com), the Web content management system vendor, announced today 37% increase in ticket sales and 53% increase in traffic after the successful implementation of the Cheltenham Racecourse website by True Digital using Kentico CMS.

“This project and its resulting success is a great example of the Kentico platform, its flexibility, stability, functionality and ease of use." says Petr Palas, the CEO and founder of Kentico Software, “Kentico CMS empowers Web developers to raise the stakes and to quickly and cost-effectively deploy fantastic websites.”

Cheltenham Racecourse (www.cheltenham.co.uk) needed an easy-to-use, non-technically demanding solution that would help bring horse racing to the masses, create excitement around their biggest race meetings and increase ticket sales. The web project was delivered by True Digital, a Kentico solution partner from Bristol, UK. Although rich in content and features, and involved integration with existing external tools, the development phase was completed within one month.

“Kentico’s ease of use, easy implementation, flexibility and complete range of CMS features meant that we could quickly produce a website, specific to our customer’s wishes, with phase one being completed in just one month, “says Jack Thompson, Business Development Manager of True Digital. “Integration with Cheltenham’s third party software and the ability to handle a sudden surge of visits on festival days, meant a scalable, tried-and-tested and easy-to-migrate CMS was essential. It was a one-horse race; Kentico CMS the obvious winner.”

“The re-designed site has been a huge step forward for us and has received almost universal praise. Administrators love the ease of updating the site and visitors and the press love the design and navigation.” says Andy Clifton, Communications Manager at Cheltenham Racecourse, “We are very happy with the result. I think we can all be very proud of what has been achieved in the last 6 months.”

Year on year figures for Cheltenham Racecourse show record attendees for all 4 festival days, 33% increase in traffic (climbing to 53% during the event), bounce rate down by 20% and ticket sales have increased by 37% with revenue up by 35% (2011 v 2012).
