Citibank appoints New Citi Country Officer in the Czech Republic

PRAGUE – Citibank Europe plc announced the appointment of Michal Nebeský (*1967) as Citi Country Officer for the Czech Republic, effective November 1, 2012. In his new role Nebeský will take up the position of his predecessor Shahmir Khaliq who continues his career in Headquarters of Citibank in New York.
Michal Nebeský worked for Citibank already between years 1991 and 2008 on several top managerial positions, in 2002 as Risk Management Director in the Czech Republic. In 2006 his responsibility further expanded in countries such as Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, former Yugoslavia and the Baltic states.
Nebeský says: “I am very pleased and honored to be returning to Citibank, especially as it celebrates its 200th Anniversary. Citibank has been in the Czech Republic for twenty one years and has achieved a very strong position not only in corporate banking, but also in retail banking and in serving small and medium enterprises. I look forward to supporting our clients to achieve their ambitions and to building upon the success of Citibank in the Czech Republic.”
Nebeský comes to Citibank from the Czech Railways company, where we worked as the Financial Director and Board member since 2008. Michal Nebeský graduated from The University of Economics in Prague, majored in international trade and finance. He speaks fluent English and Russian and partial Spanish.
He is married with two children.
