Hotel Savoy****Superior, Member of Asten Hotels will open the door to its guests on 7th December. The historical Hotel Savoy sets the tone of modern hospitality by its originality and elegance, while respecting the local tradition of charming half-timbered buildings.

Something interesting from hotel history...
Savoy Hotel was created at the place of hotel Krone (Crown), which was built in 1881 by Josef Erlebach. At that time, with its 35 rooms it was one of the largest in Spindleruv Mlyn. In 1897 the flood damaged the building and the owner rebuilt it to romantically conceived four-storey hotel with a distinctive half-timbered structures. In 1906, the hotel Krone could boast with centrally heated rooms or with one of the first local phones, with number 7.
In 1922, famous writer Franz Kafka, who was looking for the fresh mountain air to recover, stayed here. And in his hotel room he began to write one of his most famous works, The Castle.
The daughter of Josef Erlebach Elsa married Ernst Teichmann and together in 1924 took over the hotel. Ernst Teichmann worked his way up to most respected hotelier in Spindleruv Mlyn. In 1930 the couple modernized the hotel and removed the dilapidated tower, and in 1936 renamed the hotel to Savoy.
Tourism in the city stopped at the onset of the Second World War, in 1938. During the war, the hotel was used as a hospital for German soldiers.
For many decades, even during the socialist era, Savoy Hotel remained the best hotel in Spindleruv Mlyn and retained its traditional charm.


LOCATION

Hotel Savoy Špindlerův Mlýn is located in northeast part of the Czech Republic, in the heart of Krkonose, the highest mountains of the Czech Republic. The city of Špindlerův Mlýn is known as a traditional organizer of popular skiing championships. The best ski slopes in Czech Republic surround it. You can enjoy skiing in Svatý Petr or Medvědín – Horní Mísečky resorts.

TRANSPORTATION

This most luxurious Czech skiing center Špindlerův Mlýn, sometimes called “Czech Aspen” is located only 2 hours drive from Prague. The hotel has great accessibility and offers parking in the hotel garage or at outdoor parking spaces right in front of the hotel.

You can choose one of 21 Superior Rooms (30 m2), 10 Deluxe Rooms (35 m2), 4 Junior Suites (45-55 m2) or one of our huge apartments including 2-bedroom Presidential Suite at the area of 110 m2, offering the most luxurious hotel accommodations in Krkonose. It is also ideal for private meetings as well as for romantic dinner.
Our spacious Family Suite with the size of 65 m2 is ideal solution for family hotel accommodation. It’s optically divided into bedroom and living room, which offers separate children’s bedroom. We provide special children´s program to make the stay of our little guests an unforgettable experience. Luxury 2-bedroom Suite offers comfortable accommodation for those who enjoy luxury connected with wonderful environment.
