AVG Technologies announces new promotions

Prague – 8. April, 2013 - AVG Technologies (NYSE: AVG), the provider of Internet and mobile security, privacy and optimization to 146 million active users, announced the promotion of two of its Czech employees to new positions. Lukáš Raška was appointed to Global Sales Director and Jiří Kropáč is the new Head of AVG VirusLab.

Lukáš Raška has been working for AVG Technologies for three years. As a Sales Director he was responsible for business activities in CZ/SK and the Central and Eastern Europe region until October 2012. In his new position, he is responsible for AVG’s sales activities worldwide except the US, UK, and AUZ. His role includes managing direct and indirect sales channels, acquiring, developing and retaining partners, distributors, resellers and customers. Lukáš brings over 17 years of professional experience to his new role. Prior to joining AVG, Lukáš spent 6 years in sales and marketing at Dell and 4 years at IDC. Lukáš studied Business Management at the University of Economics in Prague. 

Jiří Kropáč has been working for AVG Technologies since December 2005. More than seven years ago he joined as the Technical Support Specialist and specialized in virus incidents. In 2007, he later became the Virus Analysis Specialist, responsible for researching and analyzing malware. Two years later he was appointed to the role of Senior Virus Analysis Specialist and in 2010 to the Architect. As the new Head of AVG VirusLab, Jiří is responsible for leading the AVG research laboratory which detects and researches potential online threats, developing antivirus strategies and so protecting online users from cybercriminals. Jiří studied Computer Systems at the College of Polytechnics in Jihlava.
