New features also include searching for discounts available in the neighborhood / PRAGUE – Citibank Europe plc is the only bank in the Czech Republic that offers its clients a global transfer service via mobile and internet banking, as of May 2013. The service allows real-time electronic funds transfers between Citigroup accounts anywhere in the world, which means that transferred funds are credited to the beneficiary’s account abroad in a matter of seconds.
“The advantages of our Citibank Global Transfers service include the simplicity of making payments without any unnecessary paperwork, and clients’ instant access to funds sent to Citigroup accounts abroad,” explains Radek Sedlář, Head of Digital Bank for Central Europe. “All Citibank global transfers are free of charge for our clients,” he adds. “You can send and receive funds in any of the 27 countries where Citigroup operates, and that number is constantly growing.”
Citibank clients will also enjoy another new feature of Citi Mobile. Based on their current GPS location they can now find great deals and discounts not only in the Czech Republic’s Citi Club program, but also worldwide as part of the Citibank World Privileges scheme. Citibank World Privileges is available to all holders of Citi cards, allowing Citibank clients to use their phones to locate the nearest restaurants, shops, car rental firms and hotels offering discounts, as well as a wide range of special offers.
Citi Mobile offers customers a mobile banking service with many features for smart phones. Users can actively manage their checking accounts at any time, directly from their mobile phones. Via Citi Mobile, clients can also keep track of incoming and outgoing funds on their checking accounts, perform quick payments, set up term deposits with special interest rates, get information about current exchange rates and locate the nearest ATM.
The Citi Mobile application is available as a free download, either from Apple Store for iPhone users or from Google Play for users of the Android operating system. Citibank clients can also access the application via a web browser on their mobile phone at http://mobile.citibank.cz/.
“Citibank remains expanding in the area of mobile technologies in order to simplify the access of its clients to bank services as well as to improve their customer experience through the offer of high end digital banking. Therefore a new bank application for iPad in the USA, Hong Kong and Russia has been launched recently. The application will soon be introduced to other key markets in Asia and Europe as well,” adds Sedlář.
