The Trinity Choir and Chamber Singers of Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas, under the direction of Dwight Bigler, will be performing the Daily Concert at the LOBKOWICZ PALACE Concert Hall at 1 PM on Friday, 13 March 2009. Admission to this concert will be FREE on a first-come-first-served basis while tickets last.

200th ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEATH OF HAYDN

May 31 will be the 200th anniversary of the death of Joseph Haydn, one of the most prominent composers of the classical period. On display in the Lobkowicz Palace is the 1st printed edition of his oratorio “The Creation” which was underwritten by the 7th Prince Lobkowicz, who also sang the part of the Archangel Raphael in the first Czech-language performance.

LOBKOWICZ PALACE MUSEUM SHOP

The tulip, planted from bulbs given by the Sultan to the Austrian ambassador in Constantinople, made its European debut in the Royal Gardens of Prague Castle. Hand-painted Turkish ceramics with the lovely tulip motif are now available from 350-6,500 czk in both Lobkowicz museum shops.
