The international law offices of bpv BRAUN PARTNERS, which operates in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, has appointed JUDr. Igor Augustinič Ph.D. as partner. In his practice, Igor Augustinič focuses primarily on banking and financial law, real estate law, and competition law. He also works on mergers and acquisitions and the law of business associations. In his new role as partner, he will also take part in managing the Slovak branch in Bratislava, where he has worked as Managing Associate since June 2012.
“Appointing a local partner in the Bratislava branch is the logical next step that will allow us to strengthen our successful presence on the Slovak market,” commented Arthur Braun, Managing Partner of bpv BRAUN PARTNERS, adding, “We are planning on adding more team members in the medium term and we are open to appointing experienced professionals as new partners in Prague and Bratislava.”
Ever since its incorporation in 2006, bpv BRAUN PARTNERS has been operating successfully in the Czech Republic as well as Slovakia, where it advises clients in Slovak or Czech as well as English and German. Thanks to its expanding client base – not only foreign clients, but also local Slovak clients – bpv BRAUN PARTNERS decided to open its Bratislava office in 2010. The Bratislava branch focuses on German-speaking and other international clients as well as on the direct acquisition of Slovak projects. Appointing a partner will help solidify the position of the Bratislava office as an independent, fully functional part of the international alliance of independent law offices bpv LEGAL, of which bpv BRAUN PARTNERS is a founding member.
Igor Augustinič joined bpv BRAUN PARTNERS after his previous experience in prestigious international law offices of Gleiss Lutz and CHSH in Prague and Bratislava. During his years of experience, he has taken part in a number of major transactions for domestic and international companies, especially in the area of banking, real estate, the energy industry, M&A and competition law. Igor Augustinič will help manage the Slovak office, supporting Fritjof Winkelmann, who has been managing it until now.
