Nationawide Takeoffs Voting Now Open

24.06.2014
Company: T-Mobile Czech Republic a.s.

Twenty-five regional-round winners will compete within the finals. The public will pick one national winner. The winner will receive CZK 150,000. The awards ceremony will take place on 17 July

T-Mobile has opened public voting to choose the national winner of the Takeoffs of the Year project for start-up businesses. Twenty-five originators of competing projects have advanced to the national round. From these, the public will pick one winner who will receive the main prize of CZK 150,000. Public online voting will run until 30 June 2014. One selected voter will then receive a Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Hundreds of start-up businesses used the opportunity to register their projects in the competition again this year. We are very much pleased by the spectrum of sectors they represent, as well as by their originality and very often also their community aspects,” says Petra Pavičová, Social Responsibility Manager at T-Mobile, adding: “Anyone can support their favourite through online voting until midnight on 30 June.”

The projects come from a very diverse range of segments, covering such areas as trade, services, consultancy, culture, health and sports. Interesting ideas included, for example, a dessert inspired by the historical era of the First Czechoslovak Republic, an original art cafe and juggling courses. Other projects involved production of various articles – longboards, designer fitness equipment, floorball T-shirts, bags made from safety belts, original wooden objects, 3D greeting cards and healthy food refreshments. Other competing start-up businesses offer special first-aid courses, ironing services, baby massages and much more.

Who will win?

Picking the winner is in the hands of the public. After voting ends on 30 June, the voting process will be verified. The awards ceremony at which the winner of the national round will be announced will be held on 17 July at 3:00 pm in Prague; the venue will be announced in due course at www.rojezdyroku.cz

Votes can be cast and an overview of the projects can be found here.
