AT&T in cooperation with AmCham organized presentation of Simon Urbanek of AT&T Labs on June 19 at Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University in Brno. The event attended about 45 people, mostly students from the university.
Simon Urbanek, a leading researcher in analytics and visualization from the world-famous AT&T labs highlighted how the latest communications and data technology is shaping and changing business the world over and enabling new innovative ways to improve our everyday life. He included open-source tools such as Nanocubes - interactive visualization of billions of data points and RCloud - collaborative environment for analysis of large data based on R. He also illustrated the potential of Big Data on practical applications, including how cellular network data has the potential to revolutionize the study of cities and help urban planners.
Big Data poses many opportunities to learn. The richness of the data allows for new innovative ways to improve our society, increase efficiency and answer new questions. Big Data also requires new approaches to computing, visualization and data analysis along with the development of new tools.
