The Catholic Church has first hundreds of millions in the investment fund. ČSOB started to increase a value of these resources

All of the Roman Catholic dioceses in the Czech Republic has decided to enter the Catholic Fund , despite the fact that a participation was voluntary. In the Fund, there are also resources from the Church Reserve fund, wchich has been created from the first installment of financial compensation, together hundreds of millions of crowns. ČSOB Asset Management as a fund manager, began invest and appreciate the resources immediately after the end of the subscription period.

"We have agreed with the representatives of the Catholic Church, that for a meaningful operation of the Fund it is necessary to collect hundreds of millions. This has already happened. The Church expects further growth of resources in the year 2015 and also in the coming years", says Jan Barta, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ČSOB Asset Management, Inc., an investment company.

The Roman Catholic Church has chosen the form of equity investment fund as the best and cheapest solution for an effective assessment of their funds and long-term financial security of its independent future. The portfolio of the Fund will be broadly diversified among not only stocks and bonds, but also regionally and sectorally. At the same time, the Fond respects moral and ethical aspects, which are crucial for the church. Excluded are, for example, companies producing alcohol or weapons. Foundation of the Fund is an essential step of the Church on the road to financial independence. 

"I see the existing operation of the Fund and the cooperation with ČSOB as positive. I have the joy of mutual trust in this case, where the church at diocesan level meets with this type of investment for the first time", comments Tomáš Holub, general secretary of the ČBK on the current events.
