3.09.2014
Company: PricewaterhouseCoopers Česká republika, s.r.o.

David Borkovec became the new leading partner of Tax and Legal Services in the consulting company PwC Czech Republic. He replaces Peter Chrenko who will fully focus on new trends in tax administration and the related tax risk management and tax functions in large companies within PwC CZ.

David Borkovec joined PwC in 1999; he became a partner in Tax and Legal Department in 2010. He focuses on providing services in the area of corporate income taxes, especially for Czech companies. His specialisations include transfer pricing, corporate restructuring and tax aspects of international transactions.

The measures that are being taken by the governments of most countries in the fight against tax evasion have brought the question of transfer pricing to the forefront. Companies that do business in multiple foreign markets have to pay careful attention to how they set up their transfer pricing arrangements. Certainty that they correctly fulfil their tax obligations is, for established global companies, greater than the potential savings from tax optimisation." David Borkovec stresses the growing importance of the topic of transfer pricing in companies.

David Borkovec graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of Economics in Prague. He is a member of the Chamber of Tax Advisors of the Czech Republic. He is also a member of the Board of independent experts of the Czech Republic for the purpose of drawing up an advisory committee according to the EU Convention on the treatment of double transaction. David Borkovec is a forensic expert in the field of taxes, duties and fraud. He was honoured as the best tax consultant in the Czech Republic in the area of transfer pricing for the years 2012 and 2013. David Borkovec is married and has two children. His hobbies include golf and mountain biking.
