Personnel Changes in Czech Aeroholding, Prague Airport and Czech Airlines Handling Boards of Directors

Czech Aeroholding, as sole shareholder of Prague Airport, acting in the capacity of the General Meeting, approved termination of performance of the role of Chairman of the Prague Airport Board of Directors by Jiří Pos who, effective 1 October 2014, assumed the vacant post in the five-member Czech Aeroholding’s Board of Directors.

Concurrently, Czech Aeroholding’s Board of Directors, acting in the capacity of the Prague Airport’s General Meeting, approved changes to Prague Airport Statutes, changing the number of members of the Board of Directors from three to four. Jiří Kraus remains a member of the Prague Airport Board of Directors and is joined by Tomáš Rohlena and Milan Špaček, appointed by the General Meeting effective 1 October 2014.

Effective 1 November 2014, the team will be joined by Jiří Petržílka. The new members consecutively elected Mr. Jiří Kraus as the Chairman and Mr. Tomáš Rohlena as the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors. Next, Czech Aeroholding, as sole shareholder of Czech Airlines Handling, appointed Lukáš Král to the role of a member of the company’s four-member Board of Directors.

Jiří Pos, who joined Prague Airport in 2006 after having worked for Czech Airlines, will be responsible for IT and development projects of Czech Aeroholding.

Prague Airport’s Board of Directors is now formed by two specialists from the current employee base. Jiří Kraus, as Chairman of the Board of Directors, responsible for company and asset management and Tomáš Rohlena, current Director of Operations, who will be, effective 1 October 2014, responsible for aviation business and operations. Together with the two new members joining Prague Airport, Milan Špaček and Jiří Petržílka, the Board members will form a team of experts, specialised in the Prague Airport’s key areas of business. Milan Špaček will be in charge of Prague Airport departments responsible for security and Jiří Petržilka will be responsible for commercial activities.

“These steps are in line with our long-term goal to centralise all company’s administration and important strategic processes within the mother company, to allow the individual daughter companies to fully focus on their operations and executive activities, linked to their core business. Focus and development plans of the individual daughter companies will be interlinked with the Czech Aeroholding’s overll strategy,” stated Václav Řehoř, Chairman of the Czech Aeroholding Board of Directors.

Brief Biographies of the New Members:

Ing. Jiří Pos (age 53)

Between the years 2011 and 2014, he worked as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport, responsible for aviation operations, security and VIP services, quality control, safety and process management, internal audits, corporate governance and communications. Mr. Pos joined Prague Airport on 1 July 2006 after 20 years in Czech Airlines, where he performed the role of Vice-president for Ground Operations from 2002.

Ing. Jiří Kraus (age 40)

He has worked at Václav Havel Airport Prague since 15 December 1997 - in the field of electrical energetic systems and investment development (including Terminal 2). He is in charge of asset development and management, responsible for long-term development of the airport infrastructure and interlinked technologies, as well as environment. He joined Prague Airport after having left the Poldi Kladno Corporation.   

Ing. Tomáš Rohlena (age 56)

Mr. Rohlena joined Prague Airport on 1 October 1991 to assume the role of the Head of the Operations Services Department. Later, he worked as the Head of the Terminals Operations. From 1 January 2007 to 1 June 2008, he worked as the Director of Airport Operations, and later as the Director of Terminals Operations. From 1 December 2011, he has been in the post of the Director of Aviation Operations. He is a graduate of the Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Electrotechnics.

Ing. Milan Špaček (age 45)

In the last decade, Mr. Špaček worked in several companies incorporated in the Czech Aeroholding Group between the years 2003 and 2010, in different management posts, gaining experience and erudition to assume senior roles in the area of civil aviation security and safety. He partially used his knowledge after his leave of the Czech Aeroholding Group, while running his own business. For the last two years, Mr. Špaček worked as the Security Manager and Director of Safety for Czech Railways. He is a graduate of the Czech University of Defence. In his free time he later focused on internal auditing at the Czech Institute of Internal Auditors where he become a member in 2002.

Ing. Jiří Petržilka (age 39)

For more than 17 years, Mr. Petržílka worked in various management posts in banking, predominantly in the area of Finance and Project & Portfolio Management. Prior to his arrival at Prague Airport, between the years 2004 and 2014, he worked in Commercial Bank where he was responsible for the entire bank project portfolio management. Prior to that, between the years 1998 and 2004, he had worked for eBank (now Raiffeisenbank), where he was in charge of controlling and reporting. He is a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague, Faculty of Economics, specialisation Business and Retail.

Mgr. Lukáš Král (age 38)

Mr. Král joined Czech Airlines in 1994 to work as the Passenger Handling Assistant. Since then, he has worked in many different roles, such as the Special Services Assistant, Ramp Control Supervisor, Aircraft Handling Specialist, Senior Supervisor, Quality Auditor and Head of Aircraft Handling Operations. From 2011, Mr. Král works for Czech Airlines Handling as the Director for Aircraft Handling. He is a graduate of the J. A. Komenský University in Prague.
