Construction of FILADELFIE Is at the Ground Level

It has been one year since the construction of the new seventeen-storey building of FILADELFIE got underway at BB Centrum in Prague 4 – Michle. Upon completion in summer 2010, it is bound to rank among the most important modern administrative buildings in Prague as well as dominating the multipurpose BB Centrum complex. Its six basement storeys were completed at the beginning of May and, as a result, the building has been at the ground level.
The construction of FILADELFIE is making great progress. Its construction pit has been filled up with a monolithic structure consisting of six basement storeys which were completed as planned on 4 May 2009. At the same time, the work on the vertical features of the aboveground structure began. The highest point of FILADELFIE will be reached by the end of October.
The FILADELFIE project, with 30,000 square metres of offices complete with 4,500 square metres of retail area, is being developed by PASSERINVEST GROUP, a.s. It is already the twelfth building to be created in the BB Centrum complex. The general contractor is PSJ, a.s., the architectural design has been created by the DaM architectural studio.
“The construction of FILADELFIE is even more important, considering that the year 2010 will not see many new office spaces in the Czech Republic. In view of this, FILADELFIE will rank among only a few buildings that are specifically for office use due to be completed in this year,” says Radim Passer, Chairman of the Board, PASSERINVEST GROUP, a.s.
Building FILADELFIE has been under construction since May 2008. It is located among Želetavská, U Pomníku and U Michelské školy streets, in the vicinity of the existing buildings B, C and E. It will be a new addition to the highly functional, yet architecturally compelling group of buildings which, being designed in an aesthetically attractive combination, form the harmonious whole of the BB Centrum complex. Moreover, Building FILADELFIE will have a shopping arcade, with a supermarket complete with a chemist and a restaurant, to further extend the astonishing variety of services available at BB Centrum.
The carefully designed concept of the complex also includes a large park which is planned near FILADELFIE, complete with a water feature, secluded spots suitable for relaxation or amenities for having an active rest. Another place for relaxation will be available on the roof terrace of FILADELFIE itself, boasting a spectacular view. Like the other BB Centrum buildings, FILADELFIE will achieve the highest safety standards: state-of-the-art fire protection systems, 24-hour surveillance and a central reception service, turnstiles and separate lifts for basements and aboveground storeys. The underground parking facility will have almost 1,000 parking places, used mainly by the tenants and, partially, by the public.
