Tomáš Jachan, Researcher from CBRE Czech Republic, took part in the EMEA Cross Border Charity Challenge Marathon 2014, held the weekend of 25-26 Oct 2014 in Frankfurt-on-Main. Tomáš came in 97th with his relay team, lending his support to the CBRE commitment to providing assistance for the charity project organized by Plan International. The charity project aims to improve educational conditions in Sierra Leone especially for girls.
CBRE committed itself to collecting a minimum of EUR 850,000, or over 23 million Czech crowns, through contributions from their companies and employees. “I’m very pleased that our employees and even our partners have actively participated in this charity project, which started with the Olympic Games at Petřín Hill. We were all pulling for Tomáš Jachan to win the marathon and we congratulate the whole team on their achievement. What a great success! We’ll have one more event in December - the C-Blue Day, where we’ll share our commitment to charity with our CBRE employees again,” said Richard Curran, Managing Director, CBRE.
The amount collected by CBRE throughout the charity project will be used for scholarships, modernizing school buildings, providing specialized training for teachers and their assistants, supporting disabled children and improving the quality of education at 780 schools in five districts in Sierra Leone.
